Editorial Standards
Modern Weight Science is an independent, evidence-based publication on appetite, metabolism, and weight regulation. These are the standards every page is held to, regardless of format.

Evidence before opinion
Every factual claim is grounded in peer-reviewed research, clinical-trial data, or guidance from recognised health authorities. Where we state a number — a hormone change, a trial result, a prevalence figure — it is tied to a named, verifiable source. We do not publish claims we cannot support.
Editorial independence
We are not sponsored by, affiliated with, or beholden to any pharmaceutical manufacturer, telehealth provider, supplement brand, or insurer. Coverage follows the evidence, not commercial interest. Any affiliate relationship is disclosed and never determines editorial conclusions.
Plain language, without dumbing down
We translate complex endocrinology and pharmacology so any reader can follow it, while keeping the science accurate. We name researchers, years, and study designs so readers can trace claims back to their origin.
Honest about uncertainty
The science of appetite and obesity is moving quickly. Where evidence is conflicting, preliminary, or genuinely unsettled, we say so rather than manufacture false consensus.
Education, not medical advice
Our content helps readers have better conversations with their clinicians. It does not replace them. Every clinical decision requires a licensed professional who knows the individual's history. See our medical disclaimer.
