Foundayo's dose escalation is a minimum of 30 days per step, so someone titrating at the fastest permitted pace spends month 1 at $149, month 2 at $199, months 3 and 4 at $299, month 5 at $349, and months 6 to 12 at the maintenance price.

Two conditions on those figures. Anyone who stays longer at a dose — entirely normal, and explicitly permitted by the label — pays less in year one and reaches maintenance later. Two things fall out of that table that the headline price hides.
At maintenance Foundayo is not cheaper than the Wegovy tablet. Both land at $299. Foundayo's price advantage is real during titration, when it starts at $149, and it disappears at the top dose. If you expect to be on this long-term, "the cheapest branded GLP-1" is a claim about month one.
Cost per point of weight loss favours the injections. At roughly $3,588 for 11.1%, Foundayo costs about $323 per percentage point. Zepbound at $4,188 for 20.9% is about $200. On results per dollar, the strongest drug is also the most efficient — which does not help if you will not inject it.
What changes the number
- Insurance. A covered prescription at a $25 to $50 copay beats every figure here. Whether that is available is covered in Foundayo insurance coverage.
- Staying at a lower dose. A dose that works is a dose worth staying on, and 9 mg costs the same $299 as the maximum while 5.5 mg does too. There is no financial reason to climb past a dose that is doing the job.
- Missing the 45-day window. $50 a month, $600 a year, entirely avoidable by ordering at day 25 to 30.
- Stopping. Weight tends to return after stopping any GLP-1, so the honest cost horizon is years rather than months — see whether weight regain can be prevented.
